Biography of Makelle Terrels:
Makelle Terrels is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelors of Science specializing in Neuroscience, Chemistry, and Biology and has a Certificate in the Conceptual Foundations of Medicine. She performed five combined years of research for Alzheimer’s disease at Pitt, and Spinal Cord Injury research in the department of Neurobiology and Anatomy at Drexel University’s College of Medicine. She attended TMC: Thai Massage School of Chiang Mai Thailand and received her Thai Massage Therapist and Teaching degrees in the spring of 2009. Since her return to America, Makelle has started her own private practice “Healing Hands: the Touch of Thai” for Thai Massage in Pennsylvania, as well as taught level 1 Thai Massage for Premier Salons in 12 major cities around the United States. Makelle also specializes in healing energy work, including reiki, that when combined with Thai Massage has shown miraculous results.
Thai Massage combines both the physical healing properties of Western medicine modalities and the deeper rooted alternative styles of Eastern philosophy. Makelle quickly saw the benefits of Thai Massage as a practical, non-invasive, therapeutic healing technique that has the power to help the masses. In the past year alone she has witnessed clients and students reduce their pain and stress levels, improve their sleep, and have an overall better and relaxed life. It has become her goal to spread the healing practices of the East around the world, and show the public we have the power to heal ourselves!
